A seriously hurt person has been rescued from a car hanging off the edge of a bridge after a crash.
The incident happened on Barkers Rd in Loburn, North Canterbury about 5.30pm.
Firefighters have freed one person from the wreckage. Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman Andrew Norris said no one else was in the vehicle when crews arrived.
A police spokeswoman said the person had serious injuries.
