A person has died after being struck by a train in South Auckland this morning.
Emergency services were called to Middlemore Station around 6.55am after the pedestrian was struck by a north-bound train about 200m south of the station.
Police said the person died at the scene.
No trains are running in either direction on this line at the moment while emergency services complete their response.
Delays are expected for most of the morning.
