Person found dead in Auckland Domain

A person has been found dead in Auckland Domain this afternoon.

A member of the public found the body and alerted police about 3.45pm.

Police said the body was in a bush area, between pathways on the lower side of the Domain, heading towards the tennis centre.

It appeared the dead person had been rough sleeping, and had been there for several days at least.

Police said the death was not considered to be suspicious.

Police were in the process of identifying the deceased and informing next of kin.
