Police have re-opened Railway Road, in Palmerston North, after a person was struck and killed by a train.
However, delays are to be expected and diversions are due to be in place for at least another hour, authorities said just before 11am.
"Police have completed a scene examination and the
death will be referred to the Coroner.''
The victim is yet to be formally identified, but police said they were working with the family involved.
