Former Chanel College student Elizabeth Perry has been named in the Black Sticks women's hockey squad to play India in a four-test series to be played between June 17 and 21.
Games will be played in Christchurch and Nelson.
Perry, 21, will be making her debut for the national side after having played for Canterbury for the past four seasons, and Wellington and Wairarapa before that. While at Chanel she was a regular member of the Dalefield side contesting the Wellington premier division competition.
Perry usually plays at centre forward and her selection comes after she was the second highest scorer in last season's national league.
Cricket is another sport in which Perry has excelled. She has also repped for Canterbury, Wellington and Wairarapa at senior level there as well and has been on the fringes of New Zealand selection as an all-rounder over the past couple of years at least.
Academically too she has also made her mark, having completed a BA in psychology at Canterbury University. She is aiming for an honours degree this year.
