Carterton competitor Pepper came home from the championships sporting one gold and two silver medals after a busy campaign in the capital city last week.
Competing in the boys' 15 years division, Pepper took out the 200m individual medley event in a time of 2 minutes 24.70 seconds and finished second in the 100m freestyle in 58.17secs and the 50m freestyle event in 26.17secs.
Remarkably, he also swam his way into five other finals, placing fifth in the 400m freestyle in a time of 4mins 37.39secs, finishing seventh in the 100m breaststroke in 1min 16.80secs, coming eighth in the 100m individual medley in 1min 9.42sec and filling 10th place in the 200m freestyle (2mins 15.82secs) and 400m individual medley (2mins 31.51secs).
Another competitor from Carterton, Michael Hammond, finished in ninth place in the boys' 14 years 200m backstroke final, recording a time of 2mins 32.11secs.
Masterton duo Jacob Smith and Ben Ravenwood were other swimmers to reach finals.
Smith came sixth in the boys' 13 years 200m butterfly in 2mins 43.68secs and Ravenwood was 10th in the boys' 16 years and over 100m butterfly in 1min 12.09secs.
