Indonesian immigrant Deny Setiadi is the first person to admit people smuggling charges in New Zealand and could face up to 20 years in jail.
Setiadi appeared in the High Court at Napier yesterday.
He was remanded in custody for sentencing on June 1 on 15 charges laid by the Immigration Service, including four of arranging unlawful migration to NZ for material gain.
