People on the move

Patrick Carson has become 3Com Corporation's New Zealand country manager. He was with Telecom in Wellington where he was involved in the development and implementation of Jetstream.

The business manager of gen-1 ltd's procurement division, Stephen Ford, has been promoted to head the division's operations. Mr Ford has had 12 years in client management in the IT industry here and in Britain.

Vikki Andrews is Baycorp's new human resources manager. She was HR consultant for ANZ Banking Group, and has also worked for a number of other companies including Canterbury Health, Southland Building Society and Bank of New Zealand.

Leigh Neilson will manage Dorchester Pacific Ltd's most recent acquisition, Tauranga-based Fountain Finance Ltd. Mr Neilson has had 30 years in banking and finance with Countrywide Bank, Trust Bank and NZI Finance Ltd.

Lawrence Malatios has become managing director and a shareholder of Azzura Motor Group, importers of Alfa Romeo and Fiat vehicles. He was manager of Newmarket Nissan Group and has also worked for John Andrew Ford.

Steve Brine is the new chief executive officer of Total Metering Ltd. He has had 20 years in IT in New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region.

The acting chief executive, Dean Gowans, is the new business development director and will focus on developing internet solutions.

The finance director of Ford New Zealand, Peter Lockie, has become managing director of newly-formed Land Rover New Zealand. Mr Lockie is from South Africa, and has worked in the motor industry in the United States and Vietnam.

Robin Colgan, who was group marketing and communications manager with BMW, joins the company as sales and marketing manager. Mr Colgan, a Scot, has worked for Land Rover in Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.

Metrowater has appointed Raveen Jaduram as operations manager, heading the recently-
merged water and wastewater operations departments. Mr Jaduram was planning manager water with Watercare Services.
