Dr Stuart McNaughton has been confirmed as director of the University at Manukau programme, an alliance between the University of Auckland and the Manukau Institute of Technology which enables students to take university programmes in Manukau. Dr McNaughton has had 22 years in teaching and research in education, with special experience in the areas of South Auckland, Maori and indigenous education, and administration.

The sales and marketing manager of Owens Transport, Chris McCagney, is heading the company's expanding contract warehouse business.
It recently purchased the Crossocean warehouse in Auckland which it will link with existing operations here and in Christchurch.

Anthony Grayson is taking up a new role as head of corporate finance for New Zealand for Bank of New Zealand. He was head of corporate finance for the bank's central and southern regions.
Frank Olsson, who was responsible for BNZ's corporate finance in Auckland and the northern regions, has been promoted to general manager for National Australia Bank's Singapore branch and South Asia.

The director of sales for EDS New Zealand, Robert Gray, has been promoted to managing director New Zealand. Mr Gray has been with the company for four years. He is a former managing director of Datacom Systems and has also served on a number of company boards. He replaces Steve Smith who became vice-president sales for Asia Pacific in a global restructuring of EDS.

Three new sales managers have been appointed to the ERP and network technical and services divisions of Geac Computers NZ Ltd. Nigel Birtwell has been promoted to national sales manager ERP division. He has been with Geac for a year in a business development manager role.
Greg Carter, who was with Computerland, has joined the company as national sales manager NTS division, while David Anstice becomes business development manager, responsible for the northern region ERP. He was with Quanta Systems.

He was executive producer of the company's operations and production in New Zealand Philip Wood has become general manager of Lee Hecht Harrison. He has a background in executive recruitment here and in Australia and the United Kingdom. Before entering the HR industry, he worked in general management for a number of multinationals.
