Graeme Thomas, formerly head of Farmers' Mutual Investment Services, has been made executive manager of the group's distribution arm with responsibility for area offices, local representatives, the customer service centre and development of the group's e-commerce operations. With more than 18 years' experience in the industry in marketing and sales management roles, Mr Thomas joined the rural financial services provider in 1998 as business development manager, helping the group enter the accident insurance market. Previously, he was the marketing manager at Prudential Assurance.

Two new appointments at internet integrator gen-i reflect customer demand for internet and infrastructure management solutions. Peter Dickinson has been promoted to the new role of general manager marketing and strategy. His focus is the repositioning and strategic realignment of Wang New Zealand. Bob Morton has been appointed general manager southern region, heading the Wellington and South Island operations.

Telecommunication infrastructure company Siemens has appointed Phil Josephs as business development manager. In his previous sales and marketing role Mr Josephs worked closely with Telecom, one of Siemens' main clients. Mr Josephs will be responsible for gaining new clients who need telecommunication equipment and systems, including internet technology such as "voice over the net" switchgear.

Stephanie Saunders has been appointed marketing manager of the Centra Auckland hotel. She been in the hospitality industry for 10 years, starting as a kitchen hand in a Devonport restaurant. She has since gained job and management training at the Parkroyal Christchurch and with The Loaded Hog Group.
Robynne Bell has become human resources manager, responsible for the recruitment and training of 250 staff. She transfers from the Parkroyal Brisbane where she spent 20 months as human resources manager.

Workplace health and safety company Fusion has a new general manager, Christina Rogstad. She brings her experience in the health and IT industries to a firm which helps employers take advantage of provisions in the new ACC legislation to receive discounts on their ACC premiums. She will place emphasis on health and safety services such as wellness programmes.
