Trevor Auger is to head the customer services and parts operations of Ford New Zealand. He is in a similar role with Mazda New Zealand, and has held other management positions with the company.

The deputy chairman of Ports of Auckland Ltd, Neville Darrow, has become chairman, replacing Sir Richard Carter who has retired. Mr Darrow is also chairman of Calan Healthcare Properties Ltd, deputy chairman of Newmarket Property Management Ltd and was a founding director of St Lukes Group Ltd. He retired from senior roles with Fletcher Challenge Ltd in 1993, and he is a former director of Infrastructure Auckland.

Vonnie Hill is replacing Roberta Budvietas as Auckland training institute centre manager for Interim Technology Education. Ms Budvietas becomes national director for education.

ANZ has made Graham Duston general manager, funds management and insurance. He has been acting in that role since February. Mr Duston joined the bank in 1998 as head of marketing and sales within funds management and insurance.

Compaq Computer's public relations manager, Hugh Scott, is moving to Australia as corporate communications manager for Compaq Australia. He has previously worked in public relations for Telecom and IBM in New Zealand.
