Andy Godfrey, programme director of the international MBA at the Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT), has been appointed adjunct professor of the graduate college of management at Australia's Southern Cross University. The MIT programme is run in conjunction with Southern Cross and is now offered in eight countries in the Asia Pacific region as a supported distance learning programme.

The vice-chancellor of the University of Auckland, John Hood, has become a director of ASB Group and ASB Bank. Dr Hood joined the university last year after 18 years with Fletcher Challenge Ltd in a variety of senior roles. He is chairman of the America's Cup Task Force and serves as a director of Sky City Ltd and several unlisted companies. He is governor of the Sports Foundation and a member of the King's School board.
