Group manager at AFFCO
AFFCO has named David Hall as group general manager of operations. Mr Hall was with the Dairy Board where he filled technical sales and marketing roles both here and overseas. He will oversee a programme to return the company's hide processing and rendering plants, which currently operate as separate business units, back under the AFFCO umbrella.
A former Fletcher Challenge Forests director of North American operations and development, Tony Johnston, will join AFFCO in May as group general manager sales and marketing. He will handle the marketing and sales focus of the company and its joint venture operations in Asia, the United States, Britain and Europe, and will also seek to build newly-developed markets in South America and China.
Mr Johnston previously worked for Waitaki International and Borthwick's.
Dr Ali Memon has been appointed to a personal professorship in environmental management and planning at Lincoln University. Professor Memon, who is well known here and overseas for his work in environmental planning and management, has taught at Otago University for more than 20 years.
Michael Morris is the new deputy chairman of Richmond Ltd, replacing John Cameron who has retired from the board. Mr Morris is a former senior partner and chairman of KPMG, was chairman of New Zealand Post Ltd for eight years. He has been on the board of Richmond for over two years.
Three management appointments have been made as part of a restructuring of the 116-year-old family-owned self adhesive label manufacturer, Jenkins Labels Ltd. Tony McInness, who has been managing director for 26 years, has been named executive chairman. Trevor Bowles, who has been general manager for the past 13 years, becomes managing director, while Tony Sayle becomes general manager. Mr Sayle is rejoining the company from Britain where he has been working for the past four years as international marketing director with Sinclair International.
Bluebird Foods has made two new appointments to its executive team. Carrick Courtney has become group human resources manager. He has a human resources management background with Turners & Growers, Carter Holt Harvey and Pepsi Cola. Tom Cave has become logistics manager. He has had more than 30 years in fast-moving consumer goods, most recently with Arnotts Biscuits.
