International retail training company, Friedman Group, has promoted Jeremy Sole to general manager for New Zealand. For the last five years he has worked for the company in training programme development and delivery, and as part of a team providing HR and performance system audits.

Sarah Yetton has rejoined Time magazine, taking up her previous role as account manager. She has spent the past 12 months working as advertising sales manager for Pavement magazine. She has also worked in radio and book publishing.

Peter Collins is Qantas' new regional general manager for New Zealand and the Pacific islands, based in Auckland. For the last two years he has run the airline's wholly-owned Qantas Holidays subsidiary. He has also worked as head of the airline's operations in the Philippines and Indonesia, and as general manager for South Australia and New South Wales.
John Bole is to become chief financial officer of Contact Energy. He has a background in chartered accountancy here and in Britain, and has also worked as group manager finance with Airways Corporation and general manager financial operations for Telecom NZ.

Hynds Pipe Systems Ltd has made Malcolm Meacham a director. Mr Meacham has been with the company since 1992.

Toni Stockham and Ranzolin Fruean have joined Stamford Plaza Auckland as business development managers. Ms Stockman was venue and events manager at Hopetoun Alpha and also has event management experience overseas, and Mr Fruean was a corporate travel consultant with American Express.
Leilana Murphy becomes conventions and events coordinator. She has held positions at Auckland's Park Regency and the Plaza International Hotel in Wellington.
