Kiri Carter has joined Red Sheriff as New Zealand research manager. She has been working on business-to-business projects in Britain and was a founding member of Janus Group, an Auckland University research initiative.

Rob Clarke is the new chairman of the board of Paper Plus. He has served on the board for six years mostly as deputy chairman and has 21 years' retail experience, including ownership of two of the larger Paper Plus stores in the Wellington region.

American Power Conversion has named Liz Hatton as business development manager. She was an account manager for Financial Systems.

Kate Strange is the new consumer marketing manager for the Australian Tourist Commission in Auckland. She was its market development manager. Ms Strange previously worked for the New Zealand Tourism Board, including as marketing manager for South-east Asia.

The new manager of House of Travel at WestCity is Gill Wija. She has had 12 years in the travel industry and was the manager for Thomas Cook Ltd in Henderson.

Mark Allan has taken up the new position of head of commercial services for Hartner Construction Ltd. He was group general manager for HR, supply chain and logistics for Farmers Deka, and also project-managed the building of the firm's national distribution centre and support office in East Tamaki.

The former Secretary for Justice and Ambassador to the United Nations, Colin Keating, is joining law firm Chen & Palmer in Wellington as a partner.
