Malcolm Ryan has joined 2MD Design as general manager business development. He was with Mainzeal Property and Construction and, before that, worked with Wimpey Construction Management in London.

Jo Craddock has joined the company as a senior designer. She has a background in architecture and recently returned from London where she worked for a design and project management company.

Daniela Grendene has taken up the new position of general manager national sales for the Millennium, Copthorne and Quality Hotel Group. She has had 15 years in the hospitality industry managing national sales teams in Austria, Britain, Indonesia and Thailand.

Nigel Varcoe is the new general manager for New Zealand and Australia for Genie Systems Ltd. He was with WebMasters Ltd which later became Advantage E-Commerce Ltd, and was also IT and HR director at Fletcher Challenge Construction.

The managing director and chief executive officer of ASB Bank, Ralph Norris, has been appointed head of the international financial services division of the parent company, the Commonwealth Bank Group. He will also continue in his current role. Mr Norris is chairman of Sovereign Ltd and the New Zealand Business Roundtable, and is a director of Air New Zealand and Ansett Holdings Ltd.

The marketing manager of Jacques Martin Group, Mark Patton, has been promoted to chief executive of Jacques Martin New Zealand Ltd. Mr Patton joined the company last year from Synergy International Ltd.

Mark Allan is joining Villa Maria Wines as company vineyard manager. He was with Morton Estate.

Joe Caccioppoli is the new general manager northern region for Comtex. He has previously worked for Ubix Document Solutions and ran his own management and sales consultancy.

Walker Datavision's new marketing manager is Nyree Pavlovich. She was a product development analyst with WestpacTrust Card Services.

Andy Morris, director of originations with Westpac Institutional Bank in New Zealand, is moving to New York to head the bank's United States operations. Mr Morris is a former corporate dealer with the National Bank of New Zealand and also worked with Lloyds Bank Australia Ltd as joint treasurer. He joined Westpac Institutional Bank in Sydney in 1997 as associate director securitisation, and in 1998 moved to New Zealand as director of capital raising before becoming director of originations.

Paul Collins and Bruce Hancox have joined the board of Richmond Ltd, representing cornerstone shareholder, Hawkes Bay Meat Ltd.

Michael Reddell has replaced David Archer as chief manager, financial markets department, at the Reserve Bank. He has been with the bank since 1983. Mr Archer has become chief manager, economics.

Commercial law firm, Clendon Feeney has two new associates. They are James Carnie and Jennifer Pilkington, who have both been with the firm for three years.
