* Jo Matheson has joined PhotoDisk as general manager. She has a background in sales and marketing in the stock photography industry. PhotoDisk is an international provider of visual content to the advertising, graphic design and publishing industries.
* Glen Barry is taking up the new position of manager projects, information systems and technology with Jasons Travel Media. He has spent 12 years in IT, the last seven in project management.
* Mark Brighouse and Amy McKenzie have joined the investment management team of Spicers Portfolio Management Ltd. Mr Brighouse has become investment manager after five years working in London where he specialised in managing international bond investments. Amy McKenzie, who was with Bankers Trust, is an equity analyst.
* Software company Aoraki Corporation has appointed Mike Smith chief executive of its Cardinal Group subsidiary. Mr Smith has been with the firm in a partnership role since last year, after 12 years with IBM.
* Former Hesketh Henry commercial litigation lawyer Andrew Gilchrist has begun practising as a barrister. He had been with the firm for 14 years, the last eight as a partner and most recently as a team leader. He will specialise in civil and commercial litigation, and wills claims.
* The group account director of Singleton, Ogilvy & Mather, Margaret Whitten, has taken on the additional role of business development director. She has been with the agency since 1994. Sue Ferens joins the firm as account director. She was with Advertising Works. Senior account manager Greg Jones has been promoted to account director. He has been with the agency for two years and has recently returned from a brand stewardship-training programme in South Africa.
* Hawkins Construction has named Steve Crossfield as central regional manager, based in Hamilton. He has 30 years in building and engineering construction, and has been with the company for 20 years.
* Jo Hayman and Joshua Comrie have joined LaceyLee as recruitment consultants specialising in IT positions. Jo Hayman has had 10 years in IT recruitment while Joshua Comrie has been in sales management and recruitment here and in Britain.
* Brigid Tarr has become business development manager at the Metropolis Hotel. She has been in marketing, public relations and business development in the hospitality industry.
