Lion Breweries has set up a supermarket sales team in Auckland to handle the introduction of beer sales in supermarkets. David Ferrand has become national account manager Progressive/NZ Liquor. He was senior accounts manager at New Zealand Wines & Spirits and also has supermarket experience with Huttons Kiwi and Effem Foods here and in Australia. Stuart Denton is national account manager, Foodstuff/Liquor Centre. He has been with Lion Breweries for two years as part of the Lion Nathan graduate programme. Angus Hamilton is national account manager, Woolworths/Liquor King. He has a background in both supermarket and liquor marketing.
* The project manager of temporary recruitment for the Apec meeting in Auckland, Tracey Diamond of Opal Consulting Group, has been appointed contracting consultant for Opal division, Spectrum IT Recruitment. She has had 10 years in the recruitment industry here and overseas and has been with Opal for five years.
* Kirsten Hunter has joined Cisco Systems New Zealand as northern region channel account manager. She will be responsible for increasing Cisco's visibility and market share, especially in the small to medium-sized business area. She was with Telecom Xtra and has also worked as an account manager with Advantage Group. Murray Cresswell has become southern region new-channel account manager.
* The former IT manager for Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, Phil Brimacombe, is the new chief information officer for South Auckland Health. Mr Brimacombe was with HSBC for five years and also worked in a variety of IT roles for Foodtown Supermarkets and its parent, Progressive Enterprises.
* Air New Zealand has made Andrew David its chief information officer. Mr David, who has worked as an IT consultant in Britain, joined the airline in 1991. He work in IT management in finance and marketing before becoming manager business systems for the international airline business in 1997.
* St John Auckland region has appointed four new senior executives as part of a restructuring to ensure it maintains its position as the leading supplier of pre-hospital medical services in an increasingly competitive market. Mike Willis, formerly of the New South Wales Ambulance Service, has become director Auckland ambulance operations, responsible for the 300 paid and volunteer staff in the Auckland metropolitan operation. Peter Tranter, who was St John's ambulance service manager and chief ambulance officer in Christchurch, has become director ambulance planning, support and rural services. Sandy Macaulay is the new director of education services, responsible for developing training activities. She was manager of the Building Service Contractors Industry Training Organisation and has a background in nursing and nurse training. Heather Whineray has become director health services, responsible for community health services. She was with 3M New Zealand Ltd.
