People on the move - 29 May 2000

Tony Mitchell has joined Baycorp as general manager group sales. He has had senior sales roles with technology-related companies in New Zealand and Britain, most recently as British sales manager for Novadigm UK Ltd.

* Evan Geeves has become the construction manager for Hartner Construction Ltd, following the promotion of Peter Kay to general manager. Mr Geeves was senior project manager for the Carson Group and previously spent 17 years with Civil and Civic, nine of them as New Zealand construction manager.

* Ana Reyes Bradanovich is joining DBM Asia Pacific as product manager for the region. She has a background in teaching, training and development, and in outplacement and career management consulting. She was with Career Services.

* Excell Corporation's new national civil contracts manager, Morgan Pheloung, was with W. Stevenson and Sons Ltd as operations manager of construction division contracts. He has also been earthworks and roading operations manager for Downer Construction (NZ) Ltd.

* Bill Trestrail, the new managing director of SGI Australia and New Zealand, was national sales manager, corporate and government, for SGI Australia. He replaces Greg Sitters who has left the company to join a new enterprise to which SGI is a key supplier.

* Stewart Lodge has become Ecco Pacific (Ltd) New Zealand's first general manager. Formerly electrical division manager, he takes over the day-to-day running of the company from founder and managing director, Howard Mackley. Todd Selwyn has become consumer division product manager. He was marketing and sales representative with Black and Decker.

* Ross Taylor has become sales manager, enterprise management services, for Computer Associates. Service manager Glenn Simpson moves to national sales manager, information management services. Southern sales manager, Terry Shubkin becomes leader of the channels team.

* Compaq Computer New Zealand Ltd has appointed Neil Thomson as product manager and sales specialist for the Tandem product range, enterprise solutions and services group. He was working with Tandem when that company was integrated with Compaq, and then became solutions architect for Tandem in the pre-sales team.

* Paul McGuire has joined Dairy Meats NZ Ltd as supply manager. He has a background in agricultural microbiology and marketing, and has worked in vaccine development and marketing for Coopers Animal Health Ltd here and in Australia. His appointment is part of a move by the farmer-owned company to increase its market share.

* Telecom's national employment adviser, Amanda Hastrop, has joined the board of the Equal Employment Opportunities Trust. Ms Hastrop is a lawyer and before joining Telecom worked in a law practice in Hawkes Bay.

* The former finance director of Bayleys Real Estate, Kerry Finnigan, has become chief executive officer of Elders Finance Ltd. He spent 10 years with Bayleys in the rural, commercial and industrial sectors. He has also worked in merchant banking in London where he specialised in corporate analysis, mergers and acquisitions.

* Higbee-Schaffler Ltd has appointed two new senior consultants. Una Diver has experience as an HR manager and consultant in a multinational environment, while Angela Clark has been an HR contractor in the utilities sector, after nine years with Alpine Electronics in HR, quality assurance and accounting roles.

* Kelvin Read is the new sales manager factoring, for Orix New Zealand Ltd. He has had 12 years in banking, finance and sales management, and has worked for Westpac and Countrywide and as financial controller/export manager for a seafood export company.
