A pensioner is recovering in hospital after crashing his motorbike.
The 71-year-old man sustained head and chest injuries in the incident on the Napier-Taihape Road at Kuripapango this morning.
He was airlifted by the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter to Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital around 10.45am.
The man was in a stable condition, a spokeswoman for the hospital said.
