A pensioner arrested in Perth for importing cocaine is a retired West Coast beekeeper who used to sell honey outside the Greymouth library.
Roy Arbon, of Blaketown in Greymouth, first appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court on February 18, and is next due to appear on April 1.
The court confirmed yesterday Arbon does not have name suppression.
Arbon moved from the Coast Road to Greymouth a few years ago.
In a 2011 interview with the Greymouth Star, he talked about how he helped with the clean-up after the Erebus disaster. He also helped after Cave Creek and was involved with alpine cliff rescue.
