The company said that My First Animals: Let's Get Counting, sold after April 23, and My First Animals: Let's Squeak and Squawk, sold after April 7, contained tabs that could be torn off causing a potential choking hazard.
It asked buyers to return the books to Penguin Group NZ, 67 Apollo Drive, Rosedale, North Shore City, 0745 for a full refund, including the cost of postage.
