The points situation in the Wairarapa-Bush premier division rugby competition could change drastically tomorrow night.
Leaders Marist will find out if they lose 14 competition points for an alleged misdemeanour in their first three games of the season.
That penalty was for including a player who had not been properly transferred from his previous club in matches with Puketoi, Eketahuna and Masterton Red Star.
Marist have appealed and their case will be put tomorrow night before a three-strong judicial panel.
If the appeal is lost, Marist's points will go to their three opponents _ five for Puketoi and Eketahuna and four for Masterton Red Star.
As things stand, Marist have 36 competition points, followed by Eketahuna, Masterton Red Star and Carterton, all on 35, East Coast 29, Martinborough 21, Gladstone 21, Greytown 14, Puketoi 10 and Pioneer 0.
The change would see Eketahuna on top with 40, followed by Masterton Red Star 39, Carterton 35, East Coast 29, Marist 22, Martinborough 21, Gladstone 21, Puketoi 15, Greytown 14 and Pioneer 0.
The top four go to the semifinals.
In the senior reserves, Pioneer have a nine-point lead although they have played one more game than any other side other than Greytown. Points are Pioneer 44, Tuhirangi 35, Masterton Red Star 29, Carterton 28, Martinborough 20, Eketahuna 18, Marist 13, East Coast 12, Gladstone 11, Greytown 11 and Featherston 6.
