Pedestrian trapped under vehicle

A pedestrian died after being trapped under a milk truck in central Christchurch today.

The dead man was later identified as Philip Douglas Repia, 46, from the city.

Police closed Manchester Street for three hours as they attempted to free him.

Inspector Bob Palmer said all emergency services were at the scene. Police are appealing for witnesses.
