A pedestrian was hit by a truck on the main road through Levin this morning.
Police say the crash happened just before 11am on State Highway 1 in the Horowhenua town's main shopping precinct.
The injured person is in a serious condition and is being taken to Palmerston North Hospital.
The road is closed while police investigate.
The New Zealand Transport Agency advised motorists to use an alternative route.
