The woman hit and killed by a car in Paekakariki in the weekend was a former top public servant.
Wellington's Caroline Boyd, 56, was hit by a car on Sunday morning. She died from her injuries.
Boyd was a principal analyst for the Ministry of Women's Affairs before 2012, and later worked for the Ministry of Health.
Boyd, who was married and had three children, lived in Ngaio, but she and her family also had a house out in Paekakariki.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday next week.
