Police have named an elderly woman who died after she was hit by a car driven by a 78-year-old woman in the Napier suburb of Taradale yesterday afternoon.
Jean Greer, aged 83, from Taradale, left behind a husband of 57 years, Sergeant Fred van Duuren said.
The woman died atthe scene of a collision which happened at about 2pm in a 50km/h zone on Church Road near the intersection with Montpelier Street, Mr van Duuren said.
Police were investigating the incident, which was "tragic for everybody involved", he said.
