Police have named an elderly pedestrian who died after being hit by a car in Cambridge a week ago.
He was David Russell Hodgson, 83, from Hamilton.
Police said it appeared Mr Hodgson had stepped in front of a car as he crossed Queen St, on State Highway 1, about 11.30am last Friday.
He was taken to Waikato Hospital with critical injuries and died early Tuesday morning.
Police had spoken to the driver, but said it was too early to say if any charges would be laid.
