A man is dead after being hit by a truck south of Whangarei this morning.
Police were called to the scene in Ruakaka, about 30km from Whangarei, about 9am today, Senior Sergeant Richard Leach said.
The man, a pedestrian, died at the scene.
Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and the death would be referred to the coroner.
