A woman pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car in Grey Lynn, Auckland, about 9pm last night.
Police spokesman Inspector Scott Webb said the woman, aged about 50, was hit by a car at the intersection of Harcourt St and Williamson Avenue.
The driver of the car was being processed for drink-driving, and investigations were continuing.
No other details were available.
