A pedestrian is in a serious condition in hospital this morning after being hit by a taxi in Auckland overnight.
The incident occurred around 2am on Queen St, north of Victoria St, in the central city, police said.
The pedestrian was crossing Queen St at the time.
The taxi driver was not carrying any passengers and was travelling at low speed, police said. The driver stopped immediately and was fully cooperating with police.
The pedestrian was in a serious condition and was rushed to Auckland Hospital.
