A male pedestrian is in serious condition after he was hit by a car as he crossed the road in Tauranga tonight.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 8pm after the 31-year-old was hit by a car while crossing Takitimu Drive, Senior Sergeant Shannon Clifford said.
He was struck by a vehicle travelling southbound that had come around a moderate bend, she said.
Police are seeking any witnesses to the crash.
The man has been taken to Tauranga Hospital in serious condition and has family with him.
