An Auckland pedestrian was seriously injured when he was hit by a bus on Queen St yesterday.
Senior Sergeant Nina Pedersen said the man, described by ambulance staff as middle aged, had been crossing Queen St at the Victoria St intersection about 4.10pm.
At the time, the lights had phased to red for traffic, with a green man showing for pedestrians.
The bus, which was travelling from Victoria St East to Victoria St West - across Queen St - appeared to have run a red light, Ms Pedersen said.
The driver was interviewed by police following the crash.
