Police are searching for a driver wanted on a number of offences who hit a pedestrian while being chased by police in Auckland.
Inspector Lou Alofa of the police northern communications centre said the female pedestrian was struck about 9.30am in Milford, on Auckland's North Shore, suffering minor injuries.
"There was a vehicle being followed by police which we believe was being driven by a man wanted for a number of offences," Mr Alofa told NZPA.
"During that pursuit he has run over a pedestrian before speeding off."
It is believed the woman was struck after the vehicle had been chased about 100m.
Mr Alofa said the woman was taken to North Shore Hospital but her injuries were not serious.
He would not give any details about the offender other than that the charges he was facing were serious.
"We are following up a number of lines of inquiry."
