The pedestrian who was hit by a truck on Fanshaw St in Auckland tonight has died.
Emergency services were called to the incident at around 6pm.
The injured person was taken to Auckland hospital where they died of the injuries sustained in the accident.
Police said no further details about the person would be released tonight.
Traffic was diverted in to Beaumont St after the accident causing delays.

Meanwhile, three separate crashes this evening on the Northern Motorway caused heavy congestion.
The crashes happened on the city bound motorway between Tristram Ave and Constellation Drive shortly after 6pm.
Nine vehicles were involved with only minor injuries suffered Inspector Kerry Watson said.
