Pedestrian dies after being hit by car

An elderly woman has died after being struck by a car in the Napier suburb of Taradale this afternoon, police say.

The incident happened about 2pm in a 50km/h zone on Church Road and the woman died at the scene, Senior Sergeant Fred van Duureen said

Police were speaking to the driver and witnesses at the scene and were yet to identify the woman.
