Pedestrian critical after hit and run

A pedestrian has been left with life-threatening injuries after a hit and run incident in Auckland.

It happened last night at Onehunga Mall, near Brookfield Road.

Witnesses say the pedestrian was hit by a dark car, which then drove off towards Campbell Road.

Police are looking for the car and its driver.

They say there will be some damage to the front right side of the vehicle.

The injured pedestrian is in Auckland Hospital.
