Peck and Loader head field

Saturday's club competition was a Stableford round, which was also the second of three rounds in the respective Summer Cup competitions. The day's best scores were the pair of 45 points scored by Geoff Peck and Ray Loader, with a gap back to Damion Tipuna on 40 points. There were three holes in two on the day, achieved by Graham Duckett, Shane Stewart and Bill Leahy.
Sunday's club competition was a medal round but the numbers were not great, as most decided to keep out of the strong winds. The best score on the day was a nett 68 scored by Greg Granich, while Roger Jones took second on 74 nett, one better than Brian Chappell and Maurice O'Reilly. The latter scored the only hole in two for the day.
The veterans group played in an all-irons event on Tuesday but some found the heat too much and did not complete their rounds. The results are not yet available.
This weekend has the club holding its annual Anniversary Weekend tournament, the Copthorne Solway Park 54 Hole Team Play Tournament, which commences with the Fourball best ball round on Saturday afternoon, followed by a two-person Ambrose on Sunday morning and then the trying Foursomes round in the afternoon.
