Animal welfare advocates Paw Justice have brought on board singer Tiki Taane for a project to mark the group's two year anniversary today.
Paw Justice approached the rapper earlier this year after his track 'Starship Lullaby' - to help children at Starship Hospital - hoping he could do the same for animals.
Paw Justice co-founder Craig Dunn said it was a great synergy between an artist and an organisation who "both give a damn, are willing to make a stand and create a strong voice to speak for the rights of animals and to educate the community".
"This will be people speaking to people, from their hearts, about their feelings on animal abuse," Mr Dunn said.
"If these abusers aren't going to listen to the law, or their own conscience or even have the sensibilities to know that what they are doing is wrong, they should at least have the ability to listen to one of New Zealand's greatest performing artists. And we want everyone to know Paw Justice will not stop until the message gets through."
Since the launch of a petition two years ago, celebrities such as Lucy Lawless, Erika Takacs and cast members from Shortland Street and Outrageous Fortune have joined Paw Justice to educate New Zealand's youth on their responsibilities for animal welfare.
