Broadcaster Paul Holmes will be back on the airwaves this month, three months after open-heart surgery.
Newstalk ZB has announced that Holmes' first Saturday morning show will be broadcast on September 22.
The 62-year-old Weekend Herald columnist, Newstalk ZB radio host and Q+A television presenter was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a usually genetic condition in which the heart muscle thickens to such an extent it impedes and blocks bloodflow.
Following a four-hour open-heart operation in Auckland in June to remove a blockage and carry out remedial work on his heart, Holmes was put on life support in an induced coma to help his recovery.
He returned to his Hawkes Bay home in July to continue recuperating.
