The weather could be a bit patchy over the next day or two, but is improving and likely to become fine over most of the country by Sunday, the MetService predicts.
The North Island is tomorrow expected to get a mix of fine and cloudy periods with some isolated showers over central areas, while the South Island can expect some rain or showers in the west and south, with weather fine or becoming fine in other areas.
On Saturday the North Island is expected to be mostly fine, but with a few showers possible in the northern half of the island, while the South Island will be fine apart from a few showers in the west.
The outlook for Sunday is for mostly fine weather over most of the country apart from some rain in Fiordland.
