Passerby finds body by stream

A post-mortem examination will today be carried out on the body of a young man found dead near a Hutt Valley stream.

Police and ambulance services were called to Fullerton Grove in Wainuiomata after a passerby found the body near Black Creek about 10.20am yesterday.

Wellington police spokeswoman Victoria Evans said the death was unexplained.

A post-mortem would today determine whether the death will be referred to the coroner or to police for further investigation.
