Passengers on a Dunedin-bound Air New Zealand flight were forced off the aircraft and had to leave their luggage on the plane following a security incident at Auckland Airport.
Air New Zealand chief operational integrity and safety officer David Morgan said flight NZ677 was due to depart from Auckland to Dunedin this evening.
“The aircraft returned to the gate due to security reasons and passengers remained on board for a period of time while standard procedures were followed,” he said.
“Passengers have now disembarked safely. We apologise for any distress and inconvenience felt by passengers.”
