Pacific pride was in full force yesterday with more than 200,000 people attending the annual Pasifika Festival at Auckland's Western Springs.
Traffic along the Northwestern motorway was backed up 1km as festival-goers tried to get to the free two-day cultural event organised by the Auckland City Council.
The event, in its 17th year, featured ten cultural 'villages', one for each Pacific nation, and performances by King Kapisi, Nesian Mystik and Scribe.
