KEY POINTS:
A man accused of running down a 29-year-old man outside a Christchurch party has been granted bail for a one-week remand in the Christchurch District Court.
Police did not oppose bail for Sione Moli, a 21-year-old concrete worker from Australia, who is charged with intentionally causing grievous bodily harm to a man allegedly run down by a car in suburban Phillipstown early on Sunday morning.
The victim is in a serious but stable condition in Christchurch Hospital.
Judge Stephen Erber remanded Moli on bail, without plea, to reappear on July 1.
He imposed conditions that Moli must live at an address in Hoon Hay, must abide by a 7pm to 7am curfew, and must not contact two associates, nor the injured man, nor other police witnesses.
He also ordered Moli to surrender his passport immediately.
"I warn you breach of bail will result in you being locked up," Judge Erber told Moli.
