A 23-year-old man arrested after a Montgomery Pl party got out of control, spilling on to the street on November 23, has elected to be held in custody.
Ashton Johnmayne Daley of Kuripuni entered no plea to possession of an offensive weapon, disorderly behaviour and assaulting a woman.
Daley appeared in Masterton District Court with a swollen hand and wearing a police-issue blue boiler suit.
Duty lawyer Frank Minehan said Daley wasn't making an application for bail at this stage.
Judge Barbara Morris remanded Daley in custody to December 8 when he is due to plead to the three charges.
