A court judgment in which an Auckland man was convicted and fined over an unlicensed party should be a deterrent for others thinking of holding similar events, police said yesterday.
The 20-year-old man's conviction in Waitakere District Court followed a party in a rented factory warehouse.
Police said the location was considered unsafe for large numbers of people, and the man didn't obtain a liquor licence and wasn't qualified to work in the liquor industry.
