The man convicted of the murder of Susan Burdett in 1992, Teina Pora, has another Parole Board hearing today.
There is a growing chorus for Pora's release after serial rapist Malcolm Rewa was convicted of Susan Burdett's rape through DNA evidence.
Media have been denied permission to attend the hearing, but the board said it would release its decision as soon as it was available.
Pora was denied parole six months ago because in January a lighter, screwdriver and "an objectionable item'' were found in his cell.
The board also did not have confidence that Pora had an adequate release plan in place to mitigate against his risk.
