Parliamentary Service's tender process is under scrutiny after a dispute with a backup security provider saw it have to call up a replacement company at short notice.
Parliamentary Service is the government agency responsible for running Parliament. It provides guards and security including swipe access and surveillance systems.
The Independent Financial Review reported today that backup security provider Nedax Systems had withdrawn its services due to a dispute over the tendering process for the service.
Waterford Security was called in last week at short notice as a temporary replacement.
Parliamentary Service's Joel George would not comment on the issue today, but the Independent reported he had called in Wellington tax audit firm Toovey, Eaton and MacDonald to review the handling of the tender process.
