Parking giant Wilson is under investigation by the Commerce Commission for its signs, pricing and contract terms.
The new investigation means the parking business is facing at least three active probes by government-led consumer watchdogs.
The Commerce Commission confirmed this week that it had started looking into a complaint about some of Wilson Parking New Zealand Limited's operations. A spokesman for the commission said the investigation was in the "very early stages" and was scrutinising some aspects of the parking business for potential breaches of the Fair Trading Act.
"The commission has been assessing complaints into Wilson's signage, pricing and the terms of the contract between Wilson Parking and consumers," he said.
More details were unavailable while the investigation was underway, but he confirmed it was separate from another probe into the company's purchase of competitor, Tournament Parking, and from a Ministry of Consumer Affairs review of a wheel clamping code of conduct.
